ABOUT ROGER & LOUISE SNOWBALL
Roger Snowball lives and works in Toronto Canada. He studied Architecture at McGill University in Montreal and received his B.Sc. (1974) and B.Arch. (1977), subsequently practicing Architecture in Canada.
In parallel to this career he has maintained his interest in photographic expression, starting in 1968.
Louise Snowball studied fine art at the University of Calgary and has resumed her interest in visual arts recently. Louise and Roger frequently collaborate.
APPROACH TO PHOTOGRAPHY
The process has consisted of isolating instantaneous visual experience as a record or notation of the larger experience, integrated into the flow of ordinary life and incidental to it.
In turn, the photographs themselves becoming the subject of observation, informing the experience; the result (photograph) becoming integrated.
TECHNICAL INFORMATION
Images have been captured in various formats on film over the years – 4″x5″,21/4″x31/4″,6×6,35mm.
Currently concentrating on 6×6 (Hasselblad) film and digital capture with minimal correction in Photoshop and archival inkjet printing.
Some 35mm (Leica) film and digital work on a less frequent basis.
Also employing lomography for special projects.
